Emilda is an 18 year-old Compassion International sponsored child living in a squatter community in the Philippines.  She has the mental capacity of a three year-old. 

And she’s fast!

Emilda competed in the Philippine Special Olympics in 2009 and did well enough to qualify for the World Special Olympics this summer, in Athens, Greece.

There’s a problem though.  Neither Emilda’s parents, nor the Philippine Government has the funds to send Emilda to Athens this summer.  And we would like to help Compassion International to raise the funds to her get there!

  The need is $19,857.  It’s a huge sum of money, but with many working together, poverty will have to release it’s hold and this precious girl can have the adventure of a lifetime!

Kids Grow on the Farm

The call came in right before Math…and we did finish math, and music theory and piano practice…
Because I knew…that after these little cheepers made it home, today’s schooling will be mostly all about day old chicks!

continuing to count the multitude of gifts the Father gives so freely.

366. He has returned to work in the north, arriving safely.
367. Tax files submitted, whew.  So thankful for the company that will now complete the files, 2 countries, 2 states, too much for me!
368. A very warm home.
369. Safety while driving on the icy roads, and not only that, but peace too!
370. Repentant hearts, evidence of His Spirit at work
371. A good book that is challenging my thoughts on poverty, inspiring me to tell my own story and fanning other desires in my heart
372. Working together, this month’s “deep clean”, cheerfully, with songs and smiles.
373. Mountain Chickadees visiting the feeders, flitting about the tree.  Causes me to look UP and thank the Provider.
