Builder was home for breakfast, having a meeting in a nearby town.
We continued the week’s lessons, the new schedule working beautifully! Getting all the “mom intensive” work done in the morning is helping.
And surprise! Builder was back home as I prepared lunch, able to work from home AND join in another new part of our schedule, a 45 minute, head on pillow, eyes closed quiet time required for all in the house.
His quiet time lasted about 75 minutes.
We finished lessons and the girls headed out and…

The last day of September 2010. We finished lessons early and …
A very good day. We slept in, spent time in the Word, Builder cooked breakfast, and we headed out
for a day in the “big town.”
We had a little shopping to do, and then swimming!
The pool in our town has been closed for about a month and I have really missed my lap swimming.
There are only a few pictures of our day, taken during the 4 hours of driving this day’s outing cost our tires.

Participating in Fall into Reading 2010 is one thing I am doing as I work to break a habit, a habit of purchasing books, but not getting them read! So many good books are mentioned here and there and handed to me and ….
So, here is the list of books I hope to read by the end of “fall.”
Heidi by Johanna Spyri
Seems like a lot of reading to be done. I’ll post in December and see how it goes!

A few years ago I earnestly sought information and ideas to give Christmas back to Christ, having come to this parenting adventure with very little understanding of Christ and whole lot of conformation to this world.
In my searching, I read about the ministry of St Nicholas and the idea of Feast Pigs grew in my heart.
About two years ago, on December 6, the day we now celebrate St Nicholas Day, my sweet daughters found gold foil covered chocolate coins, paint and white ceramic Piggy banks with a letter by their shoes.
The letter invited them into the joy of giving.
So as the children painted their FEAST PIGS we talked about the “feast” they can save for and give to someone else for Christmas.
Throughout each year the girls contribute a portion of their tithes and offerings.

And throughout the year I try to gather information on ministry opportunities that may match the ideas and desires of their hearts. Some of ministries our children have discovered are…

Feast Pigs have become exciting part of Christmas throughout the year for our family. And they are a small thing we hope will encourage our children to Walk with Him everyday, as they prepare for the Christmas each year..
