In the mail we recently recieved a sample bottle of Purex Complete Crystals Softener. It came at a great time as I have been replacing our laundry & kitchen cleaning products with those that are safer for the environment and better for our family’s skin and I hadn’t found anything to replace the fabric softners!
The first thing I noticed about the crystals is Less Mess! Spills and sloshes happen, and liquid fabric softener get sticky and gummy when not immediately cleaned up. It also tends to gum up the spot where we add it to our machine. The crystals are easy to sweep up when spilled, and load right in with the clothes.
Our clothes felt lighter during the week that we tried the product, and I was thrilled to find that there was less static electricity in the clothes coming out of the dryer.
I wanted to know how the product is better for the environment, so I spent some time in the Purex Website and watched a couple of the videos they have available. I also found the ingredient listings and have included them below. Click on any of the links in this post and they will take you to the information page & videos on the new Purex Complete Crystals.
All in all, I recommend Purex Complete Crystals and hope to have some coupons to share with you soon!

Last month I was given the book Lioness Arising by Lisa Bevere. This is the first book I have read by this author, and found it to be written in a conversational style, making it an easier read than most of what I’ve been working through lately. The author uses the lioness as a metaphor for women, and encourages us to realize in ourselves the power and strength along with the beauty and tenderness that can be seen in Queen of the Jungle. And to awaken to what is injust around us, and to how we can be a part of bringing justice to the world around, as we walk boldly with The Lion, our Lord Jesus.
In dealing with some dark and tragic subjects I appreciated how the author wrote plainly, simply and moved quickly to the encouragement that we women find our strength and rise up to bring justice to the oppressed. It is also refreshing to read the reminder to stop comparing ourselves, stop judging each other, and join hands as women to be that HELP that we have been created to be.
It continues to amaze me how when the LORD is speaking to me about something, words will come from many directions and sources. I realize that HE brought this book to me, and I am thankful for the watering of seeds of truth as I read it.

I found this coupon today, for a free travel size Signature item at Bath and Body Works. My kids like the small antibiotic gels that clip on their backpacks. You can pair one of those inexpensive items with this coupon for a free travel size. We like to put these in our gift basket for party favors, a little something for a teacher or with a gift card, and for our swim bags!

We just haven’t had that much experience with fevers in our home.
When I picked Chica up from her enrichment class that Wednesday she greeted me tearfully that her head hurt and she was having a hard time catching her breath. I looked her over, felt her head and asked if the breathing was because she was holding in a cry?
As the afternoon wore on Chica developed the fever and the head ache continued. Of course by this time it was 5:10 pm, after office hours. But when I called the Doctor’s Office, they had an immediate opening. A Gift. The strep test was a quick positive, so off to the pharmacy to pick up the antiboitics that were, of course, in stock. And paid for by insurance. A Gift. Another Gift.
The next day, while Chica laid on the love seat that is just on the other side of my desk, she listened to a story while the rest of us worked.
On her Red Apple/Shuffle. A Gift. The House on Pooh Corner, close to us, while the rest of us worked on Math, Science, spelling, Reading. Gift
And just above Chica, on the edge of my desk, beside the pictures, was a bottle of cool water, sometimes flavored with fruit, always refreshed.
And at this moment, my breath caught…every 6 hours there is motrin to alternate with Tylenol for the head ache and fever. Whenever the water bottle is empty, there is fresh cool water to refill it. And the face of a child 2000 miles south reminds me of the mothers who hold feverish children, with no clean water, no antibiotics, no comforting chicken soup…
and the gratitude swells,
and my heart aches for those mothers, those children, as I hold my feverish child close.
