Look Up (Reflections from the book, Misplacing God (and finding Him again)
To Find God
Romans 1:20 tells us that God is not distant, not hiding. His invisible attributes are displayed daily through his creation. The Psalms are full of word pictures taken from nature to describe the Creator of all. Yet in the day to day rhythm it is so easy to find oneself disconnected, to miss the Lover of our Soul.
Is He hiding when life gets busy and hard?
Jeremiah 29:12-14 tells us “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.”
Are you missing Him? Wondering how to catch hold of Him, how to carry Him with you as the children wake and the husband leaves for work and the to-do list is there upon the table, and you were just too tired to get up with the early alarm?
LOOK UP!
I want to encourage you today, even if only for a moment, Look Up.
Look beyond all that is right there around you and gaze for a moment upon the idea that God loves you, and is there with you.
He isn’t hiding, and in His Word He promises to be found by you.
