Let’s All Be Brave: Living Life with Everything You Have
By Annie F. Downs
Published by Zondervan
My younger daughters and I love Annie Downs. She is another “big sister”. It has been a tremendous blessing to read her books together, alongside and/or one after the other. How ever her books are read around here, loads of conversation follows.
Let’s All Be Brave is a little different from the first two Downs’ books we read (Perfectly Unique and Speak Love). In each of those books I found encouragement and truth to share with my teen daughters. Perfectly Unique also inspired a series of letters that I wrote to our sponsored children!
In Let’s All Be Brave, I heard Annie speaking to me. The mom. A woman. And I feel encouraged and challenged to take another look at some of the opportunities that I’ve set aside for a different season. I see my daughters do brave things often. And I need to step out and let them see me be brave.
The imagery that Annie drew with her words in the chapter where she talks about trailblazing has given me sharpened vision in my role as a mother. The vision is sharper and the purpose is refreshed, deepened. God has done beautiful redemptive work in my life, allowing me to walk in freedom that makes trailblazing possible!
let’s all be brave is an encouraging memoir written by a young woman to encourage others to walk faithful and bravely forward in this life. The author has a humorous conversational style allows the weight of her words land gently on the reader’s mind. These words are true and beautiful and worth considering.
