Covenant Kids, Book 1 THE LAW
Just recently I’ve been hearing a lot about Graphic Novels. It seems that either they are becoming more popular, or that word of these books is just not trickling down to me. Either way, I have one to tell you about that caught my attention. It was surprising to me that I found myself enjoying the story AND looking intently at the illustrations.
Covenant Kids is a graphic novel filled with adventure. I think this is an interesting approach to Biblical storytelling. The setting of this story is a time and place where it is illegal to study the Bible, or to even talk about it. I think a story like this particular format is a good springboard for thoughtful conversations with the kids in our lives. There are people all around the world who live under such conditions, and sometimes it doesn’t seem to far off that we may face them here in our own country.
The book is written by Andrew Youngblood, and the Art is by Alex Campbell.
The book left me thinking and I’m excited to be sending my copy to my 12 year old grandsons. I am excited about the conversations we may have after they read the book. Thank you to FrontGate Media for a complimentary copy of Covenant Kids Book 1 The Law, in exchange for this review.
