Tacos, chili, rice & beans, or nachos, those are our favorite go-to meals during busy weeks. Before I found the idea for making delicious seasoning at home, we always used Pace Picante sauce for flavoring those dishes. Now, Pace Picante sauce is tasty, but we can go through a decent size jar in one meal!
I have tweaked and adapted a seasoning recipe from Laura over at Heavenly Homemakers, to come up with one that my family enjoys. A recipe card is at the end of this post, but first, here is how I make it:
Chili Powder
Onion Powder
Ground Cumin
Garlic Powder
Paprika
Salt (I use Maldon Salt Flakes)
Crushed Red Pepper
Oregano
I layer each ingredient in my 4 cup measuring jar. Then sift.
After the seasoning is all sifted and mix, using a funnel I pour it into a glass jar.
Important, before each use, make sure the lid is on tight. And shake the jar to make sure all the ingredients are mixed. Some settling does occur.
The recipe!
I love my chill seasoning. I’m definitely going to try this.
