Just in time to get back to a regular nightly reading time with my youngest grand daughter, this book arrived. We were cleaning up from dinner when the doorbell rang, and UPS dropped off one of those telltale packages that my family always knows is a new book for review.
So Miss Joyness and I snuggled up on the sofa and enjoyed a gentle rhyming fun time making animal noises and sharing our first story of the new year. The illustrations of Baa!Oink!Moo! are whimsical, and Miss Joyness found much more in the pictures than I did at first glance. She seemed to really enjoy finding the lone ladybug and animals I missed at first glance.
The book itself is a board book, with a padded cover. It is sturdy and will bear up well as a favorite “read it again” book for young ones.
Baa! Oink! Moo! God Made the Animals, written by award-winning author Rhonda Gowler Greene and illustrated by David Walker, is set on a farm and follows a conversation between a mother and child as the child repeatedly asks “Mama, who made . . . ?”
In the end, children learn that God is responsible for creating sheep, cows, pigs, horses, goats––all the animals on the farm… including puppies! Together, parents and children will discover the wonder of God’s creation when they open Baa! Oink! Moo! God Made the Animals.
This books was supplied to me by BookLookBloggers, a division of HarperCollins Publishing, free, in exchange for my review.
