52 Weeks of Simple Meals

52 Weeks of Simple Meals… Sound interesting?

Simple Meals

I have been a frequent visitor to the Heavenly Homemakers blog, by Laura Coppinger for years.  Recently I discovered something new, to me… the Simple Meals 1 Year Subscription.

52 Simple Meals

As my children were growing up in the late elementary to early teen years, we often enjoyed preparing and eating many of Laura’s recipes.  We also often tweaked and adapted the recipes for our dietary needs and flavor preferences.

In the past year the blog and social media world has been talking about meal services.  While many people speak highly of them, I have no interest in having someone send us a box of food pouches with directions for meal preparation.  While it just doesn’t appeal to me, it sounds like it is a great fit for many people.

My meal planning is built around a variety of favorite meals, days of the week, and celebrations.  On an ideal planning day that’s how it goes anyway.  And then Life Happens.  Like this past weekend.  I left Friday afternoon and planned to be back Sunday by 3:00.  And actually arrived home at about 6:30.  Meal planning only extended to Tuesday.

There are weekends where we can be worn out, or simply out.  Kids’ activities, games and many other opportunities happen.  And when Monday afternoon rolls around, everyone wants to know what’s for dinner.

That’s where having a subscription to Simple Meals can be a big blessing!  The email that arrived last week has a simple meal plan that you look at and quickly pull together, to feed the family.

I find that if even if I do have my normal planning time,  a peak at the simple meals plan gives me fresh inspiration and a new meal idea to spice things up.

Here are the details for the Simple Meals Subscription:

For $52 per year ($1 per week) Laura prepares weekly meal plans that include:

  • The meal plan
  • A grocery guide
  • Recipes
  • Bonus Tips (like gluten free adaptions!)

And the plans include themes:

  • No Thaw Night
  • Crock Pot Night
  • Make Ahead Night
  • No Trouble Night
  • Build it Yourself Night
  • Savor Night

Personally, I have and love theme nights!  Crock Pot Monday, Taco Tuesday, and Pasta Thursday are little anchors in the week.

Just so you know, this is not an ad.  The Heavenly Homemakers blog has been a long time source of encouragement and help in the kitchen, and it is exciting to share it with you!

Do you have meal planning theme nights?  What is your favorite resource for getting good food on the table, or into the lunchbox?
